old dog

giving up on a lot of my old habits that i'd accumulated over the years, reading across varied sources of varying credibility

focusing on doing things the correct way rather than being satisfied with duct tape

starting to ask more questions along the line of - "is this the right way to do things?" even if something works - injecting some healthy pedanticism into the extremely pragmatic world view the world rewards handsomely

diving deeper into the incentives of a particular act instead of simply observing the effects

starting to actually meditate upon why i do what i do on my walks rather than accepting the status quo - i used to do this quite a lot before but had converged onto a seemingly optimal way of carrying my mind - times have changed enough to call for a recalibration - maybe should explicitly schedule this instead of waiting for a certain sort of intent misdirection threshold to be crossed
